After the precision parts are processed, sticky cutting fluid, grease, dirt and other debris will appear on the surface. If the parts need to be coated/plated, all parts should be ultrasonically cleaned before plating.
The purpose of cleaning parts is to remove all kinds of dirt remaining on the surface, such as casting sand, iron filings, rust, abrasives, oil, dust, etc. The cleanliness of parts after cleaning will directly affect the assembly quality and service life of construction machinery, so parts cleaning is an important part of the assembly of construction machinery. In order to do a good job of cleaning the parts, the cleaning agent and cleaning method should be correctly selected according to its material, structural characteristics, pollution and cleanliness requirements.
Do you know how to properly clean precision CNC machined parts? Today, SANS Machining will share several cleaning methods for precision CNC machined parts.
There are 5 main cleaning methods for precision CNC machining parts:
1. Scrub
Place the parts in a container filled with diesel, kerosene or other cleaning agents, and then scrub them with cotton yarn or a brush. This method is simple to operate. For many people, scrubbing seems to be the perfect cleaning method, but it is inefficient and suitable for prototypes or small batches of small parts. Generally, gasoline is not suitable for use. Because of its fat-soluble properties can harm people’s health, gasoline is usually not the first choice when trying to frosted parts.
2. Boil
You need to put all the parts that need cleaning into the container. The container must use a steel frame. After putting it inside, heat it up. Make sure that the final temperature is between 85 and 90 degrees. To heat up, use the stove and make sure it boils for at least 3 minutes.
3. Spray Washing
Spray a cleaning fluid with a certain pressure and temperature on the surface of the part to remove oil stains. The method has good cleaning effect and high production efficiency, but the equipment is complicated, and it is suitable for cleaning parts with simple shapes and few surface grease stains.
4. Vibration Cleaning
The parts to be cleaned are placed on the cleaning basket or cleaning rack of the vibration cleaning machine and immersed in the cleaning liquid. The vibration of the cleaning machine is used to simulate the manual rinsing action and chemical action of the cleaning liquid to remove oil stains.
5. Ultrasonic Cleaning
The ultrasonic cleaning machine uses the principle of ultrasonic vibration to clean the surface of various mechanical parts with complex shapes and high cleanliness requirements to remove oil, radioactive substances, dirt and other substances attached to the parts. As part of optical parts, auto parts, electronic parts, medical equipment and other high-precision parts.
SANS Machining, a manufacturer of precision mechanical parts, reminds you that cleaning methods should be reasonably selected according to the causes and characteristics of oil pollution to ensure the normal use of parts, avoid corrosion or damage to parts, and prevent environmental pollution and subsequent pollution of parts.
SANS Machining, relies on years of professional knowledge and unique manufacturing technology to provide customers with a wide range of precision machining technical support, including turning, milling, EDM, grinding and other process procedures, and can according to customers demand to provide assembly of a complete set of mechanical components and surface treatment services.
